Work-Ready Trims: WT and Custom
Work Truck (WT)
The WT is the starting point for fleet buyers and job-site crews. It comes standard with the enhanced TurboMax engine and 10-speed transmission, and the Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel is available.
Inside, the WT gets the same 16.3-inch center screen and 12.2-inch Driver Information Center as the rest of the lineup, plus more than 15 standard safety and driver assistance features and LED headlamps and taillamps.

Custom
The Custom adds style and everyday convenience to the WT’s foundation. Highlights include 20-inch Technical Gray machine-faced wheels, dual exhaust, the EZ Lift and Lower tailgate, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, 120-volt interior and bed-mounted power outlets, and a driver power seat adjuster. The Custom is offered with the TurboMax engine only.
Silverado (LT/Z71): The Core Trim
For 2027, Chevrolet retired the LT, RST and LTZ names. The new trim simply called Silverado takes their place at the heart of the lineup.
It adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, four-door keyless entry, ambient lighting, a rear power sliding window with defogger and Anderson Metallic bumpers. Every 4WD Silverado comes standard with the Z71 Off-Road Package, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance and a panoramic sunroof are both available.

Off-Road Trims: Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and ZR2
Chevrolet built three lifted trims for 2027 in response to strong demand, and all three ride on a 2-inch factory lift.
| Trim | Lift & Suspension | Tires & Wheels | Standard Engine | What Sets It Apart |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Custom Trail Boss | 2-inch lift, monotube shocks | 34-inch MT tires, 18-inch Dark Android aluminum wheels | 2.7L TurboMax | Skid plates, two-speed transfer case, red recovery hooks |
| Trail Boss | 2-inch lift, monotube shocks | 34-inch MT tires, 18-inch Dark Android aluminum wheels | 2.7L TurboMax | Multi-Flex center console, off-road hood with power dome, Bose 8-speaker audio, flat-bottom steering wheel |
| ZR2 | 2-inch lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers with jounce shocks | Exclusive 35-inch MT tires, 18-inch diamond-cut wheels | Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel | Approx. 34-gallon fuel tank, Multi-Flex Tailgate, 11.5-inch passenger screen, Super Cruise |

The Custom Trail Boss is the most affordable way into a lifted Silverado. The Trail Boss layers on interior upgrades, and Chevrolet calls the 2027 ZR2 the most off-road capable ZR2 ever.
High Country: The Premium Flagship
The redesigned High Country pairs luxury with capability. It is the only trim with the 5.7L V8 as standard, and the 6.6L V8 and Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel are available.
Standard equipment includes 22-inch After Midnight-painted machine-faced wheels, a panoramic sunroof, an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, a power up/down tailgate, a premium suspension with semi-active damping, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance with trailering. Inside, real wood trim, quilted seat detailing and available massaging front seats set it apart.

Which 2027 Silverado Trims Offer the Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel?
The Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel is available on the WT, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss and High Country, and it is standard on the ZR2. It is not offered on the Custom. The diesel produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque and is rated to tow up to 12,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Maximum towing and payload capacity figures are based on properly equipped vehicles and vary by configuration. Do not exceed any weight rating. See your owner's manual and the vehicle's door-jamb label for specific capacities.
Which 2027 Silverado Engine Tows the Most?
According to Chevrolet, the new 5.7L V8 delivers the Silverado 1500’s best-in-class maximum towing rating of 13,700 pounds. It is standard on High Country and available on the WT, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado and Trail Boss.
Horsepower and towing don’t line up the way you might expect. The 481-horsepower 6.6L V8 is the most powerful engine, yet it tows less than the 5.7L V8 or the Duramax, while the base TurboMax carries the most payload.
| Engine | Horsepower | Torque | Max Towing | Max Payload |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.7L TurboMax | 350 hp | 455 lb-ft | 9,400 lbs | 2,340 lbs |
| 5.7L V8 | 402 hp | 428 lb-ft | 13,700 lbs | 2,170 lbs |
| 6.6L V8 | 481 hp | 501 lb-ft | 9,700 lbs | 1,510 lbs |
| Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel | 305 hp | 495 lb-ft | 12,000 lbs | 1,870 lbs |
Configuration matters: Chevrolet’s 13,700-lb rating requires a Silverado Double Cab Standard Bed 2WD with the 5.7L V8 and the available Max Trailering Package. The Duramax’s 12,000-lb rating requires a Silverado Crew Cab Short Bed 4WD with the Max Trailering Package.
Maximum towing and payload capacity figures are based on properly equipped vehicles and vary by configuration. Do not exceed any weight rating. See your owner's manual and the vehicle's door-jamb label for specific capacities.
