The 5.3L V8 runs on regular 87-octane fuel. The 6.2L V8 recommends premium 91-octane to reach its rated output. The Duramax turbo-diesel returns up to an EPA-estimated 624 miles of highway range on a tank. That is what makes it the pick for drivers covering long distances. There is also an RST Performance Edition. It pairs the 6.2L V8 with Chevrolet Performance induction and exhaust systems for 433 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. Brembo heavy-duty front brakes are part of the package.

Tahoe Towing and Trailering
A properly equipped Tahoe tows up to 8,400 pounds. That covers a boat, a camper or a utility trailer. Available trailering technology includes up to 14 camera views for hitch alignment and blind-spot checks. An in-vehicle trailering app is available too.
Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance can tell when a trailer is attached. It then lengthens the gap to the vehicle ahead. It is now offered with the Duramax diesel as well as the V8s.
